KOA Kampground - Cortez-Mesa Verde

Cortez-Mesa Verde KOA Kampground

AFTER VISITING THE 700-YEAR-OLD CLIFF DWELLINGS IN THE PARK’S CANYON WALLS, RETURN TO YOUR OWN HIGH DESERT OASIS.

The towering flat-topped ridge of Mesa Verde National Park rises less than 15 minutes away from this KOA near the four corners where Colorado, New Mexico. Arizona and Utah meet. After visiting the 700-year-old cliff dwellings in the park’s canyon walls, return to your own high desert oasis. Swim in the heated pool or round up a game of basketball or horseshoes. Enjoy the 1-mile walking trail around Denny Lake (with fishing along the trail) and the 3-acre enclosed dog park. If you want a taste of Native American life, stay overnight in one of the campground’s tepees. Stock up on supplies and souvenirs in the grocery store and gift shop. Take a day trip to Utah’s Monument Valley, the setting for several of John Wayne’s most famous Westerns. In addition to Mesa Verde, Native American life is chronicled at Hovenweep National Monument and the Anasazi Heritage Center. Pool: Memorial Weekend – Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 80 ft.
