The Dolores Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for seasonal Visitor Center and Tourism Assistants. We are seeking friendly and enthusiastic applicants with strong communication skills to engage visitors and inform them of Dolores’s attractions, events, amenities and services.
Job Description:
Visitor Center & Tourism Assistant
Seasonal position from mid-June through October
Our ideal candidate is personable, articulate, reliable, and has excellent communication, computer, and writing skills. They should be knowledgeable about Dolores and the surrounding areas. This position will require up to 21 hours per week depending on workload, events, and scheduling.
Responsibilities:

Perform visitor center duties in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner

Welcome visitors, answer questions, and readily provide information on attractions and businesses in Dolores and the surrounding area

Answer visitor phone messages

Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Dolores and Montezuma County’s businesses, recreational opportunities, and attractions such as the scenic byway, OHV trails, hunting, fishing, camping, biking, history, and events

Assist in gathering visitor data and information via sign-in systems

Maintain effective communication with the Director and assist with administrative support and occasional projects

Professionally represent Dolores Chamber of Commerce in the community through the development and maintenance of positive working relationships
Qualifications/skills:

Customer Service experience preferred

Organized and professional

Able to work independently

Computer and social media proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Instagram, Facebook, and Square

Interested in and knowledgeable about Dolores and Montezuma County attractions

Friendly attitude with excellent communication skills

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform light yard work
