The Pinon Project
The Piñon Project Family Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that originated in 1994 as a result of a community grassroots effort under the Healthy Communities Initiative. Through the initiative, Montezuma County engaged in a process of creating a statement of vision for our community’s future.
 
We provide a wide array of evidence-based family and early childhood programs. The Piñon Project serves more than 3,000 high-risk Colorado children and families in Montezuma and Dolores Counties each year, many of whom are under served and face multiple barriers. We strive to work in partnership with families and the community to provide support in developing goals and objectives that meet their family needs and adhere to a delivery of service model that includes the Strengthening Families Framework and Family Development model.
